This is, according to geologists, "an extraordinary finding". The 35-cm fossil footprint with 3 visible claws is supposed to belong to a two-legged small-sized carnivorous dinosaur of the Late Jurassic period, because it is larger than wider.
The footprint now found follows several other discoveries in that region, namely identified in the area of Cabo Mondego, where the creation of the so-called Atlantic Geopark is planned.
This amazing archaeological finding can be seen at the Municipal Museum of Figueira da Foz, founded by António dos Santos Rocha in 1894. He carried out a remarkable work by positioning the archaeological collection of this museum as among the best in the country.
