Genderless

It´s about the right to be who we want to be. Just like a tree, a person, a country. All of them have the right to be. When we are in harmony with Mother Nature, we all are genderless.

In the wise words of Professor Jorge Paiva, graduate in Biological Sciences by the University of Coimbra and PhD in Biology by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources of the University of Vigo, "the morphology of our body is similar to the one of a tree." We have head, spine, arms and legs. Trees, they have a crown, trunk and upper branches and lower branches - root branches.

And flowers have sex too! They can be hermaphrodites, sharing both female and male structures, but they can also have female organs and male organs, separately.

Trees, can reproduce asexually, through branches shaken by the air, or fragmented by animals. Under ideal conditions, if these branches reach the soil, they manage to germinate, forming trees genetically and morphologically identical to the parent tree.

The gymnosperm plants, which are born from seeds. Their pollen grains are carried by the wind! And the angiosperms, with flowers that attract pollinating agents: insects, bats and birds.

This edition shows you that at the heart of the Natural Parks and Natural Reserves of Center of Portugal we all become genderless !
