The charming hat shop Chapelaria Liz is a true relic from the past. Opened in 1928, this family-run business continues to seduce its visitors with its unique fashionable hats that literally takes us on a true time travel !
Manuel Moreira took the business in 1977, but when he retired, luckily her daughter Alexandra assured the continuation of this historical shop of Leiria.
Chapelaria Liz is located in the epicentre of the historical centre of Leiria, in Rua Direita. It also sells shoe-wear, but the main core will always be hats that become trendier, a fashion must-have!

Arquivo Bookshop opened its doors back in 1978. It is without any doubt a reference of the cultural scene of Leiria. What makes this bookshop is its independent spirit and sense of citizenship.
Arquivo is not only a bookshop. It's a place of cultural fruition, where several literary events take place, such as book releases; conversations with writers; exhibits; creative workshops; concerts or dance performances. The Reading Club meets every month to discuss selected literary works. It was founded 10 years ago by José Ribeiro Vieira, father of Alexandra Vieira, who in 2000 turned this bookshop in a cultural location of the city.
Book lovers can also enjoy the 2-storey cafeteria, where they can have a light meal or drink a coffee, while reading their favourite books. An inspiring place that celebrates the magic of words!
