The EN2 (National Road 2) connects Portugal from Chaves to Faro and it is one of the longest routes in the world - 739,26 km-long, along with the iconic Route 66 in the United States of America and Ruta 40 in Argentina. This impressive road connects 11 districts, 35 municipalities, 11 mountains and 13 rivers!
The breathtaking landscapes of Castro Daire across the EN 2 route are truly magical. The municipality offers its visitors the EN2 Passport as well as the normal and digital stamp at the Interpretation and Information Centre of Montemuro and Paiva, at the Municipal Museum, at Carvalhal thermal stations and at the Voluntary Fire-Brigades of Castro Daire.
From North to South, the EN 2 route is a memorable route that will lead you across the soul of Portugal!
