Ourogal is a premium olive oil Portuguese brand, whose century-old olive groves are located in the region of Abrantes. Luiz-Lopes family has cared for its olive groves for more than four generations and is proud to maintain its long tradition of production of olive oil from its trees, some of which are 2000 years old. Combining traditional practices with the most modern technology, the new and modern olive groves live side by side with the centuries-old olive groves.
The olive varieties are Galega and Cobrançosa (Portuguese varieties), Arbequina, Frantoio, Picual and Zambujeiro (wild olives from the ancient tree). The olives are hand-picked while the intensive olive groves are mechanically harvested fully respecting nature and protecting the environment.
Ourogal has chosen to follow a sustainable and non-industrial agriculture process which allows the brand to guarantee full traceability and to produce organic olive oil. The subtle fresh taste of Ourogal olive oils has received recognition from some of the best chefs and prestigious contests in the world.
