Street art in Figueira da Foz

It’s amazing how street art can give a whole new life to cities and during FUSING Culture Experience, the city of Figueira da Foz became even more appealing and vibrant!

Curated by WOOL, the street artist Add Fuel has conceived a fantastic mural made of typical Portuguese tiles in a beautiful area of the city. It’s a huge mural and you can actually walk through it! But there’s more to it! Check out the mains spots of the street art route in the enchanting coastal city of Figueira da Foz!

Add Fuel
An accomplished graphic designer and illustrator, Add Fuel (Diogo Machado, 1980) has been building a solid reputation as a visual and graphic artist in recent years. Having first created a unique visual universe populated by sci-fi inspired, fun-loving creatures, the Portuguese artist has recently redirected his attention to reinterpreting the language of traditional tile design, and the Portuguese azulejo in particular. His work named “Herança Viva” – Living Heritage is a true icon of street art in Figueira da Foz by the water mirror under the Fort of Santa Catarina!

Pantónio
Pantonio is a portuguese artist, from the islands of Azores. Known by his huge dimension murals, depicting flows of animals in a characteristic style. His amazing work in Figueira da Foz can be contemplated in the coastal zone next to the Fort of Santa Catarina, in the Fort Square.

Mário Belém
This graphic designer, born in Lisbon, also worked as a cartoonist and an advertiser. Nowadays, Mário Belém has returned to handmade drawing, his greatest passion, inspired by a mural in Lisbon. Along with André Ribeiro and Juan Carmona he founded “thestudio”. His giant fish mural is located in Centro de Artes e Espectáculos in Abadias quarter.

Daniel Eime
Born in 1986 in Caldas da Rainha, Daniel Eime is the master of stencil art. Inspired by expressive human faces, some of his most impressive works depicting Portuguese poet Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen and fado singer Carlos do Carmo can be seen in Graça quarter in Lisbon. In 2016, he opened his first individual exhibition: MOVE. His work – A face watching the sky – can be seen in Bairro Novo.

Kruella d’Enfer
Ângela Ferreira is a visual artist and an illustrator known in the street art world as Kruella d’Enfer. Her creative works are fuelled by imaginary beings and ancestral myths and legends in a lively symphony of colour and huge shapes. Her vibrant work – “Kitsune Portal” – is beautifully located in Bairro Novo.
