This year, Fátima Shrine will opens its doors to pilgrims on the celebrations of May 12th and 13th with a maximum of 7.500 attendants. The mass that celebrates the international anniversary pilgrimage will be held by the cardinal José Tolentino Mendonça.
Fátima Shrine has announced that since the pandemic is not over, there must be a limit of pilgrims in the Shrine. Therefore, the religious celebrations will be very similar to the pilgrimage of October 12th and 13th in 2020. According to official info released by the organisation, Fátima Shrine will welcome its pilgrims with absolute safety by complying with all the ruling Covid-19 health security norms, defined by the Portuguese Health Authority, namely: mandatory use of mask, social distancing and hand hygiene.
