The modern Pousada, with 24 rooms, has preserved the historical heritage of the Convent, whose origins date back to the 13th century. Designed with an amphitheatre-style architecture, it is nestled on the slopes of the Serra da Esperança, south of the Historical Village of Belmonte.
The stone, wood, iron, wicker, the simplicity of the materials, and the masterfully chosen pieces, combined with the use of soft and calming tones such as ochre, sage green, sand, earth, and fire, recreate an atmosphere of tranquillity and peace. It is a unique space where silence is heard, history is felt, and the purity of mountain air is breathed. The result of the restoration is remarkable: the chapel has been transformed into a cosy living room, the sacristy into a bar, and the friars' dormitories into two interconnected rooms linked by a small cloister.
