In a small village in the municipality of Arganil, there is a cosy place surrounded by a landscape that has stopped in time: Vumba, a 140-hectare rural property, which occupies a beautiful valley formed by woods and pastures.

The old farmhouse facilities have been converted into comfortable country houses, with unique conditions for enjoying nature and having a genuine rural experience. Explore the estate's numerous trails, take part in the farm's activities or… simply relax by the pool surrounded by a beautiful garden.

Casa da Lagartixa (3 rooms)
The former landlord's residence is a very comfortable house, ideal for a family or group of friends, with three spacious bedrooms, a large living room with a fireplace, a great kitchen and two bathrooms. The house has a beautiful patio, ideal for delicious barbecues and for relaxing after a walk in the woods.

Casa do Alambique (2 rooms)
The remodelling of the old olive oil press room has given rise to a beautiful and comfortable two-bedroom apartment with a bedroom and a mezzanine, living room, kitchen, a good bathroom and an exclusive deck where you can enjoy a meal outside or watch the sunset while having a drink at the end of the day. Ideal for a family with two children or a couple of friends.

Beira (suite)
The Beira Suite is Casa do Alambique's little sister: this super-comfortable and elegant suite - with a kitchenette, bathroom and an exclusive deck - is ideal for a romantic holiday. On the other hand, if you want to bring your children, they'll love sleeping in the suite's mezzanine (and it's free).

Bué Maria (suite) and Gorongosa (suite)
The remodelling of the old winery thas generated two beautiful independent suites (Bué Maria and Gorongosa) and a leisure area (Sala da Adega). Two elegant and spacious suites, each with a good bathroom, whose names evoke the family's Mozambican roots. Both suites share a common leisure area, which includes a lounge, dining area and kitchen.

Vumba is a small family business committed to maintaining traditions, while at the same time providing a highly professional and customised service to its clients. Headquartered and operating in São Martinho da Cortiça, the company owns a 140-hectare property in that parish, 60 hectares of which are dedicated to pasture and 80 hectares to forestry.

Today, Vumba's management philosophy is decisively influenced by the memory of the ancestors, their love for this land and all the beautiful things they did and left us. This memory is also present in many small details of the house.

There are many activities available all year round: goat safari; shepherd for a day; visit to the dairy; make your own cheese; mushroom picking; olive picking and e-bike rental.
