Located at a 700 m height, in Serra da Esperança, these unique mountain shelters offer a dazzling view over the involving natural landscape of Serra da Estrela. There is nothing but silence and introspection.

Surrounded by gigantic granite stones, this one-of-a-kind accommodation provides its guests a truly unique experience of privacy and exclusivity. Abrigos de Montanha by TheVagar is only for adults.

The design of these shelters was inspired by the traditional shepherds' huts, thus incorporating local materials that perfectly match the surrounding natural landscape. The panoramic windows are a gateway to contemplation, bringing nature inside. Comfort is key in Abrigos de Montanha by TheVagar with heating stoves and a hot hut on the outdoor terrace, as well.

In order to ensure a soul-soothing sense of isolation, there are no TVs nor cars on spot. Guests can, however, engage in walking trails, jeep tours or visit to the nearby Historical Village of Belmonte, a stronghold of Jewish heritage, only 5 km away. The main house TheVagar Country House - Belmonte is located south from the shelters, only 1,5 km away.
