Located in the breath-taking Açor Mountain, the Historical Village of Piódão is like a timeless Christmas postcard with its schist houses, slate roofs and flawless white church.
There are about 300 engravings carved on large blocks of schist, the oldest about four and a half to five thousand years old, mostly dating from the Neolithic to the Late Bronze Age and which have become the most important concentration of rock art known between the Tagus River and the Lower Côa: there are spirals, cross-shaped, schematic representations of feet! All carved into the rock.
The involving area has many trees, excellent leisure zones, a bar, a meal park and first-aid facilities.
A true natural paradise that you can not afford to miss!
