Green Boots, based in Leiria, has recovered the traditional work boots used in the 50’s and created 100% sustainable Portuguese shoes that will soon develop into a clothing label!
These boots are made using traditional processes in the original factory, with the machinery from that era, and the skilled hands of long-term artisans. The work is totally personalised, by hand, and done with love and tradition.
The boot soles are made of recycled tires (or other type of rubber); the isolation is assured by using cork pieces and boot interiors are made of cotton.
Each pair of boots takes approximately 2h30 to 3 hours to be produced, but these boots can last at least 10 years.
A limited edition has been released in partnership with the prestigious Portuguese designer Joana Vasconcelos.
