Poço Azul river beach, located in Arada Mountain, in São Pedro do Sul, near Viseu, is the ultimate natural masterpiece. A place of inner peace and deep-rooted connection with Mother Nature. An hidden gem at the heart of a breath-taking landscape.
Sculpted by the force of water throughout Time, the river rocks have curious shapes. Some of these rocks were carved by the artist Custódio Almeida, depicting fish shapes and funny faces. It seems that these rocks have been strategically placed in order to provide the best view over the exuberant waterfall.
The water is quite cold, however it can be extremely refreshing on those hot Summer days. As far as water depth is concerned, Poço Azul offers river-goers a safe haven for bathing, namely underneath the beautiful waterfall. There is also a picnic area on spot.
