Villa Portela

Villa Portela is an historical landmark of the city of Leiria that dates back to the 19th century. Built by Roberto Charters Henriques d'Azevedo in 1894, this iconic cottage was inspired by Swiss architecture. The municipality of Leiria has the goal of converting Villa Portela in a art centre.

This cycling tour starts in Monte Real, namely at the outstanding Palace Hotel de Monte Real leading to the charming city of Leiria. A memorable bike tour across the fertile fields of Lis River.

The Cork Food Box

A group of 7 students of Chemical Engineering of the University of Coimbra, led by their teacher João d'Orey, created an innovative lunch box made of cork and biopolymer, in partnership with Amorim Cork Composites.

This impressive Palace can be visited along with its magnificent lavish garden, inhabited by century-old species, such as sycamore trees and magnolias, and the vineyards that occupy an area of 10 ha. The wine maker behind the outstanding Conde de Anadia wines is Luís Leocádio. A true revolution is in course.
