The region of Center of Portugal is famous for its deep diversity. And the same goes with wines. There are 5 wine regions within the region, namely: Dão, Bairrada, Beira Interior, Tejo and Lisbon. Exquisite wines matching the most demanding tastes, state-of-the-art wine locations and the coolest tasting spots. As well as breathtaking views over the never-ending vineyards bathed by sunlight and soothed by the Atlantic breeze.

Dão wine region

Paço dos Cunhas

Set in a beautiful 17th century building, Paço dos Cunhas (16km away from Viseu) was restored by Global Wines enterprise, becoming one of the most prestigious wine tourism units in Portugal. The renovation project is signed by Portuguese architect Pedro Mateus. Here you will find the perfect balance between tradition and modernity in an environment full of comfort. Paço dos Cunhas de Santar organises regular wine workshops, show-cooking activities and visits to Casa de Santar wine cellars.

Quinta da Taboadella

Quinta da Taboadella is located in Silvã de Cima within 40 ha of vineyards between Vale do Pereiro and Vale do Sequeiro, offering a stunning view over Serra da Estrela. The modern wine cellar was designed by the Portuguese architect Carlos Castanheira and is an example of ecological sustainability by using materials such as wood and cork. This winery has the oldest testimonies of the history of wine making in the region of Dão, dating back to 1255.

Casa da Ínsua

Casa da Ínsua is a baroque style manor-house, built during the 18th century by order of Luís de Albuquerque de Mello Pereira e Cáceres, Governor and General-Captain of Cuibá and Mato Grosso, in Brazil. Walking through the gardens is not the only activity you can enjoy. You can also taste the wines that are produced in the house, spend the morning with a shepherd, watch closely watch closely the Serra da Estrela cheese and jam handmade making process, participate in the Farm activities such as working in the vegetable garden or picking up fruit, as well as enjoy walking throughout the green fields, and the outdoor swimming pool during the hotter season.

The area of Beira Interior wines comprises over 16 thousand hectares of vineyards, as well as great variety of vine varieties, namely the white vine varieties: Síria, Arinto and Fonte Cal and the red vine varieties: Tinta Roriz, Rufete, Touriga Nacional, Trincadeira and Jaen.

Quinta do Encontro

Wine region Bairrada has a distinguishing wine location, combining a design-oriented architecture and the wine cult. Quinta do Encontro is a project of Global Wines. Quinta do Encontro was designed by Portuguese architect Pedro Mateus, including a gastronomic area, a shop, a leisure area, a wine-making cellar and a multipurpose room. It is located 30km away from Coimbra, 40 km away from Aveiro and 3,5km away from Curia.

Quinta do Sanguinhal

Com as uvas da Quinta do Sanguinhal produzem-se os vinhos Quinta do Sanguinhal DOC Óbidos, bem como os IG Lisboa Sôttal branco Leve e os Sanguinhal varietais. É na Quinta do Sanguinhal, que atualmente a família Pereira da Fonseca recebe quem quer conhecer o seu património único, dando ainda a provar os seus vinhos a milhares de visitantes por ano.

Quinta do Gradil

Not far from the Montejunto Mountains, 50 km from Lisbon, between Vilar and Martim Joanes, is situated the Quinta do Gradil. One of the oldest estates from Cadaval, a property that also was part of the legacy of the Marquis of Pombal, Quinta do Gradil has a strong wine tradition that started many years ago. The property comprises a noble chapel decorated by an artistically decorated tower, a housing core, a cellar and an agricultural area of 120 hectares with wine production.
